Introducing Partner & Head Florist, Chris Wood
The creative mind behind our stylish bouquets, Chris spends much of his working day surrounded by gorgeous flowers. He works closely with our suppliers to select only the freshest seasonal stems before he begins designing them into stunning bouquets to be enjoyed by some lucky recipients. Here's an exclusive peek into his flower-filled world...
What's the best bit of your job?
"It's a bit like being a fashion designer! I'm always on the lookout for any new floral trends and inspiration as there's a new range to plan each season which I'll be working on it at least eighteen months ahead (so I'm never quite sure what year it is!) For me, the best bit is working closely with our lovely growers and suppliers selecting the perfect flower varieties to feature in our amazing bouquet designs"
What's your favourite flower?
"Each season brings a stunning selection so I can't choose just one! For spring and summer, I love our British peonies and sweet peas for their fresh scent. Our cherry brandy roses are a gorgeous pop of autumnal colour, and you just can't beat a British-grown poinsettia plant at Christmas."
Who's the last person you sent flowers to?
"My Dad. He loves Gladioli and used to grow them in our garden when I was younger. He loves their bold colours and structured look."
What's your top tip or flower fact?
"Always (always, always) use a clean vase and fresh water for your bouquet, and remove any leaves that sit below the waterline. Cut flowers last longer in clean conditions so any contaminants in the water will reduce the vase life of your bouquet."
